On Diets, Tans and The Beach!

Fashion is the ONLY reason I might head to the gym again, cuz i've been off that wagon for some time now and I don't mind it one bit. Don't you love Karl? I am also going on a 1200 cal diet starting next week inshalla.



I have been working on my tan ever since I finished the exam, so far its evening out into a sunkissed tint.. But I might have to spray tan just to give it that "oomph". Pictured here is Fantasy Tan, the spray tan used in Tropical Tans (Dubai) and probably the least fake looking spray tan available here.



And finally.. The Beach! I LOVE THE BEACH! I have stocked up on beach wear and accessories and cant wait to get there! But between bad weather, the red tide and my working hours it has been impossible to get to.. I'm hoping I can squeeze it into next week or something!

The Persistant Ex

For the record, I started off with the full intention of finishing off my assignment which is due in a few days..


But with twitter, the oscars, and everything fabulous online.. I kinda lost track of time..



Anyways.. more to the point..


Did you ever wake up to find a text message or an email or even a miss call that gives you a sore feeling that lasts all day? Yes, this is a post on those people who refuse to let go.. who think that its better to have some kind of connection "just in case" than let go.. Those who send friday forwards, or an occasional email telling you that they are still there, waiting.. or something!


My friend gets a "good morning" message from her ex every single day! Its frustrating.. and drains you on the long run..



Has anyone had any similar experiences? And how do you deal with it?

Tension headache, memory problems and general rant.

Ok so I can't seem to remember anything, like AT ALL.. and its not my general complaint of forgetting faces/names.. its worse.. i cant remember what i did today.. no details anyways..



I can't remember why it was important to start talking about this, but im sure there was a story behind it..



see what i mean? frustrating.



On another note, i feel its very inappropriate to be bragging about extravagance when there are people out there who have lost their jobs or are feeling very insecure about it..



Oh, and correct me if i'm wrong, but it is totally rude to be eating 7abb (seeds?) and spitting it out in public right? like if a mom sees her kids doing crap like that she should definitely do something about it, rather than watch her kid trash a perfectly clean and sanitized clinic, vraiment?



Yep, some days are just..

The good, the bad and the ugly. And the interesting!

Today..

The good: my friend got back from paris <3 i had missed her terribly!


The bad: a misunderstanding last week lead to a tiff with my in-charge (not a good thing since we're still on not-so-good terms)


The ugly: I had the most difficult patients ever, every other patient was an emergency case and it was pretty hard to cope.

But we live, we learn and we manage.

On another note.. I'm starting to blv in art therapy, ever since i started art classes i have been complaining nonstop about how boring the process is...
But as soon as i got home today, i put on some french music, got my sketch pad and started sketching..It was bliss.


The interesting:




It snowed in RAK! ( i actually just saw this!)

The one on Aging!

Did you know that we all have a little timer built into our chromosomes that counts down from the day we are born till the day we die?

Those "little timers" also known as "Telomeres" get shorter at a regular rate marking off cell death..The rate of this shortening depends on multiple factors such as diseases or other risk factors (obesity, high blood pressure..)

Research is being conducted to find methods to slow down or even reverse the shortening.. thus prolonging life, and preventing disease!


Interesting huh? XD

The one on the Identity Crisis.

Just got back from watching Francaise, its part of the Dubai Int Film Fest, loved it.. I don't know if its my fascination with everything Moroccan or the way that young girl (award-winning actress Hafsia Herzi) yearned to be in France that got to me the most... but I love love loved it...

The gist of the movie was on how conflicting cultures can affect a person, when growing up and later on in life.. and how one's own ground does not necessarily have to fall within ancestral grounds... its very profound that way :P


In other news: my fone died on me today, called Etisalat and they told me that the service is down :)


A day without my BB is NOT a good one..


Good thing i have those movies lined up for tonight! lol

Lovin the weather!

Yesterday we had a bit of a sand storm, so what started off as a clear day ended up real messy. Today, however, is fabulous.. Winter has finally hit dubai! Let there be rain! *inshallaa!*





As for me, I am still work*ehm*ing on my thesis, trying to find as much distractions as possible, although a sunset this beautiful cannot be a mere distraction now can it? ;)

Mornin!

So I got up real early today, and decided I was gonna give myself a much needed pedicure. I wanted to wear peep toes today, and what with the flu last week and the craziness this week, i did not have time for a proper pedi, my toes looked horrific- to say the least.



Anyways.. I scrubbed n buffed, cut n filed, base coated, coloured, and top coated.. Et voila! Perfect toes xD





Nothing beats pampering urself first thing in the morning!
