Words of the wise:

"You can read all the books u want," he pointed at my notebook, "but it is life that teaches u the most."

I looked at him knowing he doesn't want me to reply, and nodded.

"As u get older, u will know exactly what every person u encounter expects from u," he went on, "you will learn that people are hardly ever what they lead you to believe they are,"

I gave him a sceptical look, just for the sake of it.

"You will find a way to read people, but I see that you already do that,"he summoned.

I smiled.

Little did he know, that the girl he thought was handled by kid gloves and sheltered from ugliness had learnt the hard way, that everyone has a hidden agenda. That acquaintances hardly ever make it to anything more than just that because of a highly structured filter, that " better safe than sorry" became a rule of thumb regardless of how boring it is.

So I just nodded, and continued to smile :)

The Growth Wheel

Step one: look at the big picture, define your mission, set your goals and values.

Step two: organise the process, establish standards of performance and ways of achieving personal excellence. Focus, eliminate distractions, and any form of destructive elements.

Step three: gain support, and the drive to succeed (from within, or a significant other when applicable)

Step four: launch, recap, and add on to your mission, changing standards to accommodate change. Trial and error basically.

One last thought: " our behaviour is a result of our decisions not our conditions"

Jazz-ed

Music does free the spirit, and paired with the right ambiance, it could be therapeutic, relieving and just what a troubled mind needs.

"Music gives me air n lots of luvin everywhere" ;)

I have been going through an emotional turmoil for the last 24 hours, questions like when is enough, just enough? Is it true that negativity attracts more negativity? And is ignorance really bliss? Or should you dig for causes of whatever it is that's bothering you, maybe the answers won't be favourable? Maybe then certain drastic changes would have to be made? And who isn't afraid of change?

Personal excellence

Patience is a virtue..

I have yet to master!

I seriously hate waiting for anything, and have zero tolerance to people who make me wait, especially if I have to deal with people who are grumpy around the clock.. From friends who just got up from the wrong side of the bed to those who are bitter for being up at an early hour (me included) or those edgy because of the exam due date closing up on us!

BUT, since "anger management" was on my list of resolutions, I will just breath.. And wait!

Cuz if I blow up, who will hold it all together?

Black & White

Anna Sui Dot Dress

Christian Louboutin tdf pumps

Boston Bag

Black and White are big this spring.
I am currently a fan of the White Shirt a la ruffles, and a pair of high waisted black pants.
There's something comforting about going back to basics .. non?

Quote of the day: (Billy Joel)
“Shades of grey wherever I go
The more I find out the less that I know
Black and white is how it should be
But shades of grey are the colors I see.”

Questions Existing

I put my conflicting thoughts on hold for some time, but "signs" keep popping out.. everywhere i go.. every book i read .. every class i take.. every conversation seems to have an insinuation to what i am going through, and have chosen to ignore.

Just got a text message asking me: "what do u want out of life m?"

But i will chose to ignore all those signs, out of wisdom (i assume), cuz my plate is just too full right now. Workwise, Uni-wise, and Otherwise.. So for now, all my questions will have to wait. And whenever i "relapse" into "think" mode.. i will just have to find the right distraction.

Now isn't that easy?

Marc? Blah

Ralf Lauren (berrets were ALL over the runways!)

Temperley (earlier this week)

Everyone was waiting in anticipation for marc jacob's fall 08 line.. and it was SUCH a disappointment! the bland pastels.. those cuts.. and COATS!? it had BLAH spelled all over the runway! to quote him: " i really wasn't very inspired this season."

However.. *wipes out the horrid images from her memory* fashion week in NYC had some pretty cute dresses.. It is said to be inspired from the 1920's (must check on that era sometime soon and get inspired myself!)

On a personal level..
Today was: Tiring. And Long.

Not that i was out and about, but i was playing Mentor throughout.. and it drains you. Especially if you have your own life to deal with.. or not.

But it feels good to have contributed to anyones well being.

Today i learned that i should NEVER judge anyone before hearing them out.

And I try my best not to judge people, but its human nature, or a bad habit that i will kick off.

A woman's search for "everything"

Listening to: gypsy passion

As I linger in weekend trance, a quote from the book jumped out at me:

" Having a baby is like getting a tattoo on ur face. You really need to be certain it's what you want before you commit"

Just what I needed to hear (or read) .
