Benji Button, the review

Spoiler alert, the review (and every other review) will have a spoiler, stop reading now, no hate mail plz!

Ok! The movie was THREE hours long, u obviously need three hours to cover the lifetime of a man from birth till death I guess..

Its long. Very very long.

We walked out feeling that it was a pretty intense movie. And amazed by the visual effects and aging processes seen in the movie..

But on the way out, I spotted Derek (I mentioned him a decade or so ago) and he's well into his 50's.. I know because we threw him a bday bash once.. Anyways.. On the movie, he said: it kinda makes u want to appreciate life more..

And I knew, had I been older, that would probably be my exact thought.

In his lifespan, Button did everything he wanted to, he traveled the world and worked and loved and tried it all.. He truely lived. And although he couldn't make his love life last for as long as he wanted, he made the best out of it.

As I said before, its a very intense movie.

And its long.

I give it a 7.5

But ask me again in 20 years or so.

The Persistant Ex

For the record, I started off with the full intention of finishing off my assignment which is due in a few days..

But with twitter, the oscars, and everything fabulous online.. I kinda lost track of time..

Anyways.. more to the point..

Did you ever wake up to find a text message or an email or even a miss call that gives you a sore feeling that lasts all day? Yes, this is a post on those people who refuse to let go.. who think that its better to have some kind of connection "just in case" than let go.. Those who send friday forwards, or an occasional email telling you that they are still there, waiting.. or something!

My friend gets a "good morning" message from her ex every single day! Its frustrating.. and drains you on the long run..

Has anyone had any similar experiences? And how do you deal with it?

The Pixie!

Just watched "Rosemary's Baby"..

Mia farrow not only looked adorable in her super cute mini maternity dresses, but her innocent doe eyes made the movie even more captivating.. She reminds me of twiggy, and her haircut is just fabulous (currently seen on V beckham)

Would you ever go this short?

From the african inspired interiors, to the buckets full of steak knives on the tables and the slabs of meat served on wooden boards.. The place can be a tad too much for us girls, but is definitely a place to try for the steak lovers in town.

It just seems that we've seen it all.. quite a few times really. The 80's don't have much to offer, especially with designers trying to make it last much much longer!

And will the poofed up/padded shoulder trend stop already?

Tension headache, memory problems and general rant.

Ok so I can't seem to remember anything, like AT ALL.. and its not my general complaint of forgetting faces/names.. its worse.. i cant remember what i did today.. no details anyways..

I can't remember why it was important to start talking about this, but im sure there was a story behind it..

see what i mean? frustrating.

On another note, i feel its very inappropriate to be bragging about extravagance when there are people out there who have lost their jobs or are feeling very insecure about it..

Oh, and correct me if i'm wrong, but it is totally rude to be eating 7abb (seeds?) and spitting it out in public right? like if a mom sees her kids doing crap like that she should definitely do something about it, rather than watch her kid trash a perfectly clean and sanitized clinic, vraiment?

Yep, some days are just..

Bleh.

Hamburgers or Steaks?

Quick fixes or thorough analyses..

Every day we face this question, one way or the other..

Its like when patients decide to go to the pharmacy and get symptomatic relief instead of dropping by the clinic, or when I choose blogger add ons instead of html-y stuff (ayoom, I get it its not all ctrl v!) Or when ppl choose diet pills or liposuctions instead of changing habits and lifestyles..

We always look for the fastest way to get from point A to point B. Preferably with the least possible effort.

I used to think its smart, but its really a bad habit.
Its partly laziness, partly impatience and partly wanting what we want right here and then, but we forget that the fastest way is not necessarily the most efficient one. That by cutting down on time, quality gets affected too.

C'est vrai! Trust me on this one :p

Twilight, I know u've all watched the movie by now.

When the movie came out, all the girls I know were going edward crazy, I was intrigued, but then they told me vampires were involved. That was all I needed to hear. I am not a fan of the paranormal: vampires, witches, ufo's (they all fit in the same category when it comes to me lol) although I did watch heroes for some time. But that's different :p

Anyways! lol Twilight obsessed Halawa made me read the book and insisted I don't see the movie before reading it :p she also sent it to my BB, which probably had a lot to do with the fact that I finished it.

I haven't read a book through in ages!

So now: the verdict

Part one: the one where she meets edward, the tension and courting.. I liked that part a lot, probably cuz it took me back to highschool, and how irrational first love is.. It was nice. My favorite part of the book, although it does get extra mushy for my taste at times lol

Part two: the vampire hunting, chasing and mm the bloody part.. As I said, its not my thing, but I read through..

Part 3: the happily ever after, it was predictable, but I like how the ending is kinda open.. Its a plus.

Overall: enjoyed it, an interesting read, a good 7.5!

Maybe now I can watch the movie? ;p

What did u think of it?
