The one on science

Angels and Demons was great! The movie reflected the book and those visual effects were stunning. Grossly so at times.


I was fascinated by how the illiminati channeled all their knowledge and creativity back then, and made their points even if it had to be hidden within works of art and churches. I don't remember getting the same reaction after reading the book, but that was ages ago.


A question me and my friends had as we walked out was if scientology sprung from the illuminati beliefs or had similar roots.. Something we plan on reading up on sometime soon.



A very well made movie. I give it a 9.

Switch is a fabulous restaurant/lounge at the Dubai Mall designed by Karim Rashid, who has designed objects for major brands including Umbra, Kenzo, Prada, and Issey Miyake. He also designed many restaurants from Singapore to NYC (Morimoto ). Switch has yummy mediterranean fusion dishes and exotic juices that will excite your tastebuds and an ambiance that would literally lighten up your senses!

The one on vitamin water

When I first saw those cute bottles on Gossip Girl I had to look them up.. "Vitamin Water", with a sleek website and bottles that state: vitamin + water = all u need.

They will also have a vitaminwater beach thing going on at the Cannes film festival this year and it looks super fab! Link



But Vitamin water is basically soda (not diet soda) fortified with vitamins.. Think "still ornamin C" NOT "healthy water". It contains juice extracts, sugar, Vitamins (A, B's and C) and other combinations of antioxidants, zinc, st johns wort or ginseng according to the flavour you choose.


An interesting alternative to red bull for sure!

Risotto D'or

Bistro Margaux opened recently in Souq al Bahar..A new french-italian place with a perfect terrace overlooking Burj Dubai and a very brief but authentic menu.

I tried the Risotto D'or ("or" being "gold" in french) which had actual edible gold flakes and was delicious!

Showcased for the first time ever

"Dubai has a mystical power that touches one's heart" Y. Kawashima 2009

Dubai 1962 is a photo exhibition by Yoshio Kawashima who visited Dubai 47 years ago and set out to capture various shots of Dubai back in the day. A fascinating collection of photographs are unveiled for the first time ever to the public in this exhibition. Walking through the gallery I actually wished I had been there, and seen it all for myself. You must check it out in DUCTAC at Mall of the Emirates.
