The one on science

Angels and Demons was great! The movie reflected the book and those visual effects were stunning. Grossly so at times.

I was fascinated by how the illiminati channeled all their knowledge and creativity back then, and made their points even if it had to be hidden within works of art and churches. I don't remember getting the same reaction after reading the book, but that was ages ago.

A question me and my friends had as we walked out was if scientology sprung from the illuminati beliefs or had similar roots.. Something we plan on reading up on sometime soon.

A very well made movie. I give it a 9.

Oh! thanks for the movie review! But the question on my mind is: how was Galleries Lafayette? I'm so eager to find out! (do you have any photos of the interiors etc.?)

I will have to disagree with "The movie reflected the book" statement! I was rather disappointed with this movie! The DaVinci Code was a90% refelction of the book, Angels & Demons was not! following are the differences I can highlight from top of my head:
1. beginning of the movie (Langdon wakes up from a strange dream to the sound of the fax machine...).
2.the way he was flown to CERN (with that high speed jet).
3. the dead scientist was actually Vittoria's dad in the book (his name was Leonardo Vetra).
4.the 4th Cardinal died in the book, and he was not elected as pope as Cardinal Mortati was elected.
5.they totally missed on the real reason why the Camerlengo killed the Pope and they way he died in the end.
6.Vittoria's kidnapping by the Hassassin.
7. they missed out on the romance between Langon & Vittoria.
8. and many more I can't remember right now as I read the book 3 years ago!

so I was disappointed of the movie :(

but nevertheless; its a good movie and the explosion scene at the end was amazing.

sham3h: wow i had almost forgotten all those details.. i think the movie would be too intense if they tried to shoot everything in the book as is.. they actually did a great job! and yeah the explosion was breathtaking!

MMMmmmm, I did prefer this movie to The Da Vinci Code, but I wouldn't say that it was actually good, or did the book any justice. Part of the reason I enjoyed reading both books was the great amount of interconnected information that no one saw coming, which was lacking in bulks in both films. For those who know nothing or very little of art history or christian history, the film would just come across as an "action" movie, no more, and lacking in depth.
However, I must say, it is much muuuuuch better than TDVC.

hated the book, hated the movie, hated the writer. Doesn't really do anything for me.

Kissmyshades: i would think its pretty hard to jam all the info in the book into the movie and still make it entertaining to viewers..

KTDP: hate is a strong word dont go throwing it around :P

A journal entry: this one's good, do tell me what u think of it x

i hope my comment to this post isnt too late. its better you read the book Angels & Demons. you will see that the Illuminati are now called Masonics, in their 300+ hidden years their targets changed and became more politicat and economical. The book is very interesting, full of world history information, i was dissapointed to see the film done this way. It missed all the thriller in knowing such history.
