Diagnose, then perscribe.

In medicine, we take a thorough history, conduct examinations, and order labs to come up with a diagnosis, only then do we prescribe meds and give advice.

If we would take this concept and incorporate it into our lives, we can certainly benefit from it! How so? Lemme give u an example..

When we communicate we tend to talk (rather than listen), and even when we do listen, we are just preparing- in our heads- to reply to whatever the other person is saying.. (And nodding throughout? ;) )

The thing is, we do not listen half the time, so we end up not being on the same page, or going around in circles.. Not getting anywhere.

So, and as covey puts it: seek first to understand, and then to be understood.

In other words.. Diagnose, before u prescribe ;)

- to active listening (as hard as it is, for me xD) xxx
